when you hover images in DOpus you get thumbnails of the image. sometimes those thumbnails make DOpus use 100% CPU. Only way to stop that is disabling the thumbs. I already submitted this bug to GPSoft

I just figured out it wasn't related to XnView at all but a bug in DOpus that occured when i was running XnView due to the way I use DOpus. Sorry about the false report.

nope, didn't help.
Here's what I did this time, but again it's hard to repoduce: Double-click on an image on my HDD, look at some images in that folder (using pageup/down), close XnView, delete a rtf file from that folder. I didn't notice when exactly the high cpu usage started though :(

would think so. couldn't find the actual call neither in registry nor control panel > folder options, windows is just showing the "restore" button there.

but i really don't think it's related to the way xnview is started, the high cpu usage would probably happen right after starting xnview ...

it's using the standard command line that's set in Windows when you make XnView the default handler in XnViews prefs

problem is that it doesn't happen every time i use xnview. I guess it's some specific action or something that causes it, but not knowing makes repoducing pretty hard.
I never start XnView by calling the exe without parameters, but I don't think it's related to the way it's started.
My guess would ...

XnView causes 100% CPU usage in directory opus (dopus.exe)

Hi,
I'm using Directory Opus 8 (don't want to pay for 9 as there aren't any interesting new features in there) and latest XnView.
For quite some time often when using XnView (launched from DOpus by double-clicking an image) suddenly DOpus starts using 100% CPU.
As this happens only when XnView is ...

This is still broken in RC2! The error message doesn't appear anymore, but I'm not asked for where to create the file and XnView freezes while printing. If I open the printer config dialog first it works.
So it seems you fixed only a part of the problem.

Works fine with CuteWriter.
Adobe offers a 30 day trial of Acrobat 8: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobatpro/tryout.html

In the meantime I went back to beta 6 to get you a screenshot of the error message I'm getting when XnView tries to use the wrong config file: http://img145.imageshack.us ...

works fine with XnView 1.8.x and any other app. I guess it's related to that new print dialog.
If I can provide you with anything feel free to ask

RC1: print bug with Acrobat 7

I'm using Acrobat 7 as only printer in my system. When I print a file the Acrobat dialog showing the print status opens but then XnView freezes and nothing happens.
When I open "Printer" tab in print-dialog, click on "Configuration" and just click OK and print the everything works fine.
In beta 9 I ...
