Hello again,

sorry for bothering. For some reason the old version was not completely uninstalled upon replacing 0.72. After deleting the folders in the AppData\Roaming and the rest of the Program files, I reinstalled the 0.76.1 which now runs without asking for an update.

Hi sorry for the delay,

yes. I've downloaded that file several times from http://www.xnview.com/en/xnviewmp/ and installed it. The size is of the setup file is 33.5 MB / 35,164,728 bytes.

But the program's "About" still shows "Version 0.72 x64 (Dec 19 2014)", even after uninstalling the existing ...

Hi,

there's the update notification popping up in XnView MP 0.72 x64 on Windows now for quite some time. But when I download the new setup to update, the setup file only installs "0.72". I haven't tested the 32-bit versions but the zip file contains 0.76.1.

I consider thumbnails stupid. If a directory contains only a few photos, they are unnecessary. If it contains a lot, thumbnails are impractical:
1. There are many images to display. That's slow and it usually leads to memory leaks.
2. The thumbnails are a waste of disk space.

I just found a serious bug when batch converting a bunch of pictures with xnView:

Watch out if there is a % character in either paths or filename of the pictures - if there is at least one such character, the images containing a % within the complete path string will be gone - deleted and not moved ...
