The star ratings incorporating numerals are per attachment are highly distinguishable and would stand out and be clearly visible on thumbnails. Does anybody know how I could incorporate these in my XnView set up.

I’m about to embark on adding keywords to my images and would welcome, in advance, any tips and advice on how to proceed. For example, which edit option should I use; IPTC or XMP?
Suggestions on appropriate tutorials and U-tube videos would also be appreciated.

Filter by image has done the trick. Thanks for your assistance.
Question 1, any idea how this option might have been switched off?
And 2, is there a quick, self help reference available that beginners/ newbies to XnView such as I, could refer to in time of need?

Under custom filter, all boxes are ticked with the exception of video which is listed under the heading 'show as thumbnail'. I ticked this box but it had no visible effect.

On opening, XnView no longer displays thumbnails in the thumbnail pane. Any suggestions as to how I can switch it back on again.

I thought I sent you a reply but I don't see it. So I repeat it.
I deleted the .ini file as you suggested and that did the trick.

Unfortunately, no.
FYI, Last night I uninstalled XnView, cleared out the XnView folder in my programs file, reinstalled the program but to no avail.
I wonder whether there is an option 'reset to default' available which could solve my problem.

Sorry, but I must be blind I don't see an active folder tab in the top left corner. I see a folder displayed called 2021 images.
Above this panel are options (Tabs) which are greyed out and on top is the Menu bar.
Any chance you could indicate on the screenshot I sent you by means of an arrow where ...

I understand that the attached screenshot is in browser mode but it does not show the browse icon on top. When I open a folder from this mode and click on an image, it opens in view mode where editing is carried out. But what I’m failing to achieve, is to open a folder of images as thumbnails in ...

I'm new to XnView MP and have been familiarizing myself with the programme.
I'm stuck in view mode and want to get back to browse mode in order to display thumbnails.
Can anybody help me please.

You are right, I was in the wrong area. I had another look around and succeeded in switching on Affinity Photo formats.
I went as follows:
>Settings>General and ticked the box for 'Show all graphic formats'
At this stage, I can only open one image at a time but its a start.
