when I open both in my PC I see a big difference. but when a throw them on my Chrome browser -this is what matters to me- there is also no difference.

I'm a bit busy today. give me, please, till monday and I will open both images on my labtop and I will tell you what I see there.

it looks like it was simply I have the "maintain color profile" option unchecked. when active the file converted keeps almost the same tone, as you can see in both images attached.

but again it does not work when using wepb conversion -even with the box checked and unchecked-. you can have a look ...

I see. you mean the settings of XnView. the conversion was made with XnConvert.
