Re: jpg to wepb
sorry for my late reply. I've been a bit busy.
I still see a difference. even in a different computer. could it be a question of myviewer? my default one is HoneyView. my version of Windows wiever seems to not be able to show webp. but with images throwed on my browser -Chrome- it seems there is not a big alteration.
uploaded to internet they look like that:

Re: jpg to wepb
definitely I see a difference. in this occasion is simple a compresion from jpg to jpg. as you may probably notice the tone in bricks is changed. I'm using XnView MP Windows Version 0.99.7 64bits (Jan 13 2022). I make daily compresions and in most of them I see no difference, but for some reason in some set of pictures the alteration of tone occurs.
Re: jpg to wepb
as in the capture I press convert:
Re: jpg to wepb
it looks like it was simply I have the "maintain color profile" option unchecked. when active the file converted keeps almost the same tone, as you can see in both images attached.
but again it does not work when using wepb conversion -even with the box checked and unchecked-. you can have a look at it at the zip attached how the tone is altered.

Re: jpg to wepb
there is a little bug, ICC can't be disabled for WebP.
But could you check these 2 files, jpeg&webp converted, do you see a difference?

Re: jpg to wepb
when I open both in my PC I see a big difference. but when a throw them on my Chrome browser -this is what matters to me- there is also no difference.
I'm a bit busy today. give me, please, till monday and I will open both images on my labtop and I will tell you what I see there.

Re: jpg to wepb
when I open both files in my labtop -HP envy, a bit more powerful than my PC- even with the uncompressed webp file there's a slight difference, but it's hard to appreciate it.
and when I upload all files to internet -this is what matters to me- this difference diminish. there's again a slight difference, but nobody is going to appreciate it.
even with the compressed webp, in the browser the change is almost inexistent, while when opened in my PC viewer the difference of tone is more than evident.
