Re: How to switch to using a portable version?

I understand your use case and it makes sense but they can't really bill an app as portable if it doesn't meet the industry definition of portable. Perhaps they could include a tool that you could use to take a snapshot of existing file associations, set file associations to xnview, then later ...

Re: How to switch to using a portable version?

So users of portable versions are suppose to manually associate 209 file formats with XnViewMP? And not make a single mistake about it? And after taking it on a pendrive to another machine repeat the whole process?

Seems to me users of portable versions are not supposed to associate file ...

Re: Metadata - merge all Edit dialogs into single one

The image can go if the space is needed but if it's going to otherwise be a blank area why not leave the image. It may help some to write the description and remember what image they are working with.

Re: Batch convert - rework UI

Why? I like the tabs. It's how all the Settings are laid out.

What View button in browser? All I see is a popup menu from View as> item in View menu.

Re: Trying to use 'Custom Labels' to display the metadata DATE and DESCRIPTION

Add my vote for this capability. The xmp:title would be very helpful in the browser as my filenames remain the sequential names assigned by the camera and the title tells me what they are about.

Re: Thumbnail size in Browser and Preview

I think I figured out what was going on. Apparently, the size of the image is based on the size available at the time the modal is opened and is not updated with resizing.

If the initial modal is small, then the images will remain small even if I expand the modal to nearly full screen. But if I ...

Re: 1.3 Update files from catalogs always changes file date

This bug is fixed but it introduced a new one where the .xmp sidecar is created even if the checkbox to Update or Create is unchecked. I'll create a new bug report but this has an easy workaround by setting the individual filetypes to No. It honors that setting.

Re: 1.3 Update files from catalogs always changes file date

However, this fix may have broken SAveAs. I'll create a new bug report but in summary.
1. Click Save As
2. Get warning that if saving in this format existing metadata will be deleted (why? prev version didn't)
3. Press ok and get the same warning again.
4. Press ok again and it says saving, but no ...

I can confirm that this is fixed in 1.4 Beta and the file modified date is not changed (if the option is set) when writing out.

Re: Thumbnail size in Browser and Preview

xnview wrote: Tue Nov 01, 2022 1:19 pm what do you means? You would like to view picture in fullscreen from dialog?
No, I want it to appear about like user0 showed in the attachment but what I was getting was images about the size of a postage stamp and expanding the dialog was not expanding the image.
