Seems to no longer be a problem with the latest version of XnView now that AVIF encoding has been moved to use libheif, while it is still a lot slower than JXL it seems to be catching up in terms of detail retention at speed 5.

I have tested XnView MP 1.4.1 and I can confirm that the new "Use sharp (and slow) RGB->YUV conversion" setting operates correctly and provides an output matching that of the test files from the command line encoder with Sharp YUV enabled.

Hi all,

I created an account so I could also ask for this feature. WebP's default subsampling behavior just does not look as good as it could without Sharp YUV enabled. There's quite a handy example displayed on another forum here: https://irfanview-forum.de/forum/program/feature-requests/12925 ...
