Re: Folder ratings disappear
I am not, unfortunately, I was really hoping someone here might know what I am talking about and the solution; or at least someone else might have complained about a similar issue.

Re: Folder ratings disappear
I do use the rebuild thumbnail feature a lot. but I don't rate folders until after I rebuilt the thumbnails. Do you think rebuilding the thumbnails of some folders will cause the ratings to disappear on others?

The first picture is of Settings>Metadata.
The second picture is of Settings>Catalog
I don't know of any Settings>Metadata & Catalog>Catalog.
I see Settings>Catalog has memory usage for database engine, is it possible I just don't have enough memory allocated to the database engine? I do have a LOT ...

Re: Folder ratings disappear
I don't know what you mean by "clean xnview.ini" but I do have that file in my folder where metadata is found.
What I think is happening is when I go into a folder with a bunch of sub folders, that are rated, there is a green bar that slowly fills up as the screen loads the folders and their ...

Re: Folder ratings disappear
My folder's are doing it again, the ratings are disappearing. I have Catalog Enabled, I have a file already named XnView.db and rename xnview.ini. I really don't want to have to uninstall and reinstall the program as I'm worried about losing metadata.
I already lost considerable hours of rating ...

Re: Folder sample pictures
The issue I'm having is in the video in the link you provided. It's the folder thumbnail, it's really small in some folders and ideal sized in others. What was the solution to this? I couldn't tell from the link. I think it has something to do with Settings/Catalog but I don't know what I'm supposed ...

Re: Folder sample pictures
The pictures are rather personal, is there a setting that determines the size of the pictures in the folder icons?

Folder sample pictures
Folders in xnview will show a sample of the pictures in the folder and sometimes these pictures are nice and big, such as taking up almost a quarter of the folder icon per picture, but sometimes the sample pictures are REALLY small, like taking up maybe 5% of the folder icon per picture. What ...

Re: Yellow banner/flag
OK, I get it that data was added to the pictures, I can change the ratings easily enough, how do I remove the flag? I try clicking on it but nothing happens.

Yellow banner/flag
I downloaded a folder of pictures that already came with a 4 star rating and some kind of yellow banner/flag on them.
What does the flag mean? And how did they come with a rating?

Re: .jp_ files
-Rebuilding thumbnails doesn't fix the blurry thumbnail. I also tried Metadata/EXIF Thumbnail/EXIF Thumbnail - Rebuild but that didn't work.

Rebuild thumbnails isn't working on it either. It may have something to do with the other symbols. There are three...

Re: .jp_ files
Well the program isn't making .jp_ files anymore, and metadata/clean does remove most of the blue symbols (the symbols that are usually associated with blurry thumbnails) on the pictures (it still leaves behind that blue box with a smaller white box in the bottom right corner symbol) but it's not ...
