What version are you using btw? I was just checking & I have jpg listed in the save-as dialog in view mode, just like in regular xnview (no settings though, those are only available in browser mode->export).
v0.12...yes in viewer mode the pull-down does not list jpg (only jfif) but the file ext if ...

Thanks for clarification re: jfif &jpg
On messing around a bit more, I did find that while viewing a single file I have one set of "save as" choices with no compression adjustments...
if, on the other hand, I select a single file while in browser mode, I can use the export button to export the file ...

Save As drop-down no .jpg option?
So happy Xnview happening for OSX... I have been recently switched from PC to MAC... need my familiar tools around me:-)
opening a jpg and trying to save it as a lower res jpg I can't even find jpg as an optionin Save As menu... am I totally missing something?
