I can confirm this bug.

Symptoms: when deleting images in Normal View Mode, XnView sometimes loses focus after an image is deleted, aka if another application is opened in the taskbar, it will automatically be selected, or, if XnView is the only application opened, it will simply get minimized.

Well, after some digging I discovered that the solution to my problem can be found in Tools -> Options -> Browser -> Automatically select new files.
