Well, a year has gone by with NO comments, so perhaps it's only me that would appreciate:
- An easy way to select a RANDOM selection of images from a folder (and subfolders_
- To enable those randomly selected images to then simply be copied to another location (memory card, digital photo frame ...

Re: Tagging images whilst viewing....
Yes tagging is only available in browser mode
Is there an alternative to do what I am trying to do (skim through a set of images in View mode, and "mark" some of them for later burning/copying??)
Why don't you use the browser/fullscreen view?
I was struggling to see what you had in mind here ...

Tagging images whilst viewing....
I am looking to plough through lots of images and pick out some of them for burning to a CD/DVD
What I was going to do was browse though them with the image viewer, and tag the ones I want to burn - then I'd just copy the tagged ones to my burner program
BUT
I can't see how to tag images from ...

Re: Progress bar while copying images?
I'm copying files from almost full DVDs, as you can imagine, even on new machines, moving 4Gb of stuff does take a "while"

Progress bar while copying images?
I'm in the process of copying my wifes scanned 35mm pictures from DVD to a USB drive for easy access
The copy process works fine, but I am used to seeing a "progress bar" so at least I know something is happening - is there one in Xnview? If there is, I can't find it....
Thanks
Phil G

Re: Copy random set of files to alternate location
OK, been thinking about this, and actually it would be acceptable if you could just add an extension to the Edit.Select menu entry
Instead of just Select.None and Select. All you could have Select. Some leading to an additional dialog where you could define what "some" means. Could be random ...

Copy random set of files to alternate location
I don't THINK this is possible, but I am sure it would be a neat feature
I have a couple of digital photo frames and many (many) thousands of image files
What I would like to do is provide Xnview with a list of images (perhaps a folder or a group of folders) and ask it to RANDOMLY select images to ...

Re: Delete button/icon on image view
But you cannot specify bitmap files for getting icon graphic.
But you CAN specify an icon file for the button image! For the viewer and the browser main toolbar, the icon you select should be 24x24.

Re: 1.97: Cannot add 'Delete' button in toolbar
I'm the one Helmut was helping with this
It seems if you select an icon from an icon file, all is OK, but it you let it default to the cmd_Delete icon (the red "X") then somewhere the command gets lost and your new button appears as a seperator. If you then view the toolbar customisation you can ...

Re: Delete button/icon on image view
Thanks (and thanks for realising that there may be a bug)
If I go through your process but then go BACK afterwards, the icon I added that is now a seperator has NO command associated with it

Delete button/icon on image view
When I am in browser view, I have a Delete button (the red X) to delete the currently selected image
