Last week a whole load of "end of UK tax year" tasks took over - then just as they were near completion on Friday, my PC RAID system started going down (which eventually turned out to be down to a dodgy SATA connection).

Re: Scanner is working, but no longer in "Select Twain Sourc
Here's how I usually go about in cases like this:
Download XnView-win-small.zip (v2.20) and extract it to an FAT32-formatted USB flash drive.
Note: This should rule out any problems with NTFS permissions.
Create a text file named xnview.ini in the same directory as xnview.exe v2.20 with the ...

Re: Scanner is working, but no longer in "Select Twain Sourc
Are you able to acquire into other applications from the Epson 1670 via TWAIN, windbag?
No. It's stopped working in Corel, too. I have X3, and scan has stopped working in Photo Paint & Draw, with the message:

Re: Tried again, but no joy
You could check that your Windows folder contains a folder called twain_32 -- on my Windows 7 computer I have that folder, and software for my Epson scanner is contained in a folder named escndv in it.
It does, and it did before.
Is you 'data' drive a partition on your main hard drive, a ...

Tried again, but no joy
Just to be sure, I went back into device manager, uninstalled the scanner, plugged it back in to force Windows to reinstall, went through the dialogue to reinstall & ran the software I used to get it working at the last rebuild (which worked for years).

Re: Scanner is working, but no longer in "Select Twain Sourc
As I said:xnview wrote:even by reinstalling driver?
I have tried reinstalling it from scratch (yes, including the driver).

Scanner is working, but no longer in "Select Twain Source"
I have on oldish scanner (Epson 1670), but it has been working on my (oldish) Vista 32bit desktop for the past 6 years.
I only do scans once in a while (last successful one was about a month ago).
Suddenly, it has stopped responding to the "Scan" button in XnView.

Re: Directory size in status bar request
When I was using XnV yesterday, it also occurred to me that it would really help if any directory in a listing could have the "size" field filled with the appropriate figure, ie here;

Re: Directory size in status bar request
Yes, like that - if that does the same even if the directory view is just another set of directories (you show actual pictures).

Directory size in status bar request
One of my uses for XnView is when I'm juggling my photos/videos I've recently taken into 4.7Gb sized chunks to write to DVD for archive.
Partly because I can see what I'm grouping together well, partly because XnView is far more robust than Windoze(Vista) Explorer to renaming the directories.
