[fixed] bpgdec.exe console flicker

I know this is looking a gift horse in the mouth, and it's great to see bpg support in xnview (Thanks!!!) ...

... but: On opening each .bpg file that isn't in xnview's cache, there's a quick console flicker of the bpgdec.exe program, i.e. the window pops up in front of xnview and then closes ...

Re: Windows: No scan source available

Isn't the bottom line that scanner manufacturers rarely provide a 64-bit Data Source .ds , so it isn't normally possible to scan from 64-bit software such as XnView MP 64-bit using a TWAIN interface... The practical solution on 64-bit Windows is to use a 32-bit software application such as XnView ...

Re: How to make default "Auto Image Size > Fit image to wind

Using 0.82 final on Win x64, this doesn't work for me:

I can set "Auto Image Size: Fit Image to Window" in Settings alright, but it's ignored and images opened through the Browser of command line always come up with "Auto Image Size -> No fit" ... the same behavior of 0.81 and before. How do you ...

Actually, it doesn't convert to 12bit because it doesn't even *open* it in 16bit :-p

Re: Duplicate finder

Imho the one thing that XnViewMP should be *really* able to do is detect exact dupes on copy/move, the current behavior of letting the user click "skip" each time on 100% equal pictures is bordering on stupidity.
You can use 'Skip All' perhaps?? :)

Nope, not when the finenames are generic ...

Thanks for the information, I just wondering for quite some time where people got 0.76.1 :-p

Re: Req: Add 16bit tiff writing (or at least a warning)

The warning might not show if you've disabled it at some point in the past. On the settings->General page, try resetting all confirm prompts and see if that helps.

Thanks, will do.

Re: Req: Add file format settings to save dialog

Having said all that, because I have developed the habit of using the batch convert as my save-as I do not place this at a high priority. But having these slightly obscure workarounds is not good usability, especially for new users.

Thanks to everyone who mentioned this possibility, I'd never got ...

Re: Req: Add 16bit tiff writing (or at least a warning)

However, XnViewMP (0.72) does display a warning when the 16-bit TIF is opened, saying that it will be converted to 8-bit.

I'm in bad luck then, mine (0.75 Win64) doesn't at any time? My workflow: open 16bit tiff (either through the browser or command line), select "Save" or "Save As" ...*boom ...

Wupps, I actually did use "search before post" but I missed that - well, another reason to get that added :-p. It adds "yet another option" in the preferences, but adding a file path dialog should be very quick to implement.

Req: Add 16bit tiff writing (or at least a warning)

While XnViewMP happily opens 16bit tiff files, when saving them it silently discards half of the data and saves as 8 bit. That's unfortunate, as esp. with a lossless format you're bound to assume that you can happily save w/o any loss of quality. Note that 16bit tiff is a very common format esp ...
