Re: [REQ] More user friendly check for updates, please

I meant xnview itself. When it checks for updates, it connects to duncan.xnview.com where file with latest versions information (I don't want post it's name) doesn't exist. That file, however, exists at xnview.com
I mentioned this just in case you guys are not aware of this.

But that is besides the ...

Re: [REQ] More user friendly check for updates, please

You have the popup each time that you start xnView??? Yes, it was. Now seems to stop, but it pops up every day anyway. Still absolutely useless and annoying popup. The only solution is to disable update check.

Coming up 3 years since this topic started, I guess it will never happen.

P.S.
Btw ...

At least make it stop checking and popup that useless and extremely annoying popup every time XnView started. The settings says check for updates daily, not every freaking time it starts...

Batch processing fails when images in W7 libraries\pictures

Hello.

I was trying to convert images that are located in Windows 7 Libraries\Pictures

XnView shows incorrect path in the list starting with a back slash:
\imagename.jpg
\anotherimage.jpg

and then it fails with message:
Error opening the file <\imagename.jpg>

However when selecting images ...

They are referring to copy path of an image, not the folder where the image is

Re: XnView Shell Extension fails to update

Is this going to be implemented in future setup versions? I really hope so...even though the v3 of that installer was released in 2002, it already had the feature ShellExtension setup missing in 2010 ;)

Looking forward seeing working installer and revised XnView update feature.

Re: XnView Shell Extension fails to update

Right, but my point is all that is the installer's job, not user's. What is the point of an installer that can't install the software?

[EDIT] sorry, missed that topic...[/EDIT]

Oh...XnViewMP reminds me of Bill Clinton's strategy on how to improve education in the country and make students get higher grades: lower the requirements...

XnView Shell Extension fails to update

Hello.
This bug goes as far back as I can remember, when a previous version of XSE is installed and was used recently, then new version fails to install with error message saying that copying XnViewShellExt.dll fails due to permissions, with 3 options: retry, ignore, or cancel. Obviously retry doesn ...

Re: Add "Copy Path" to the Rigt Click Menu

Here is my vote for this feature as well.

As of shell extension, if you are using Windows 7, you can do SHIFT + Right Click, it will show you that option (it's a W7 native feature)
