Hello,
The main topic that explains XnView MP is here; http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=16490
In that same topic, you must check out the useful info posted by JohnFredC... And YES you're absolutely right, Pierre should sticky/pin that topic for everyone. I will inform him.
Also check out the brief MP info on XnView's Wikipedia page; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xnview#Versions
Hope this helps you.

Re: What is XnView MP?
That wikipedia article currently claims it "will eventually replace all other versions of XnView". I did not see this explicitly stated in its sources (or recall reading it at this forum).

Re: What is XnView MP?
Oh...XnViewMP reminds me of Bill Clinton's strategy on how to improve education in the country and make students get higher grades: lower the requirements...
To me XnViewMP looks like a castrated version of normal XnView, with a fraction of features. It seems instead of adding features to other platforms to meet XnView, it was decided to cut down the features and make them all the same on all platforms...
Am I wrong?

Key features (final version):
* Same features as XnView 1.92
* Unicode support
* Internal 16/32 bits per component support
* Easier handling of native language support (text based files)
* Better database
