Keys are ok, but "open with" and "edit with" are not necessary IMO, since they break the sentence that started with "Open with >>" (hope that makes sense)
I'd prefer:
Open With >>

Registering makes sense. If it's a matter of a forgotten password only, simply select "I forgot my password" at the login page. A new e-mail containing login info will be sent to you, then. If you can't remember (or find in the memberlist) your username your in trouble. I can search the userlist ...

Hello Helmut, although I use this service and think it's good I totally agree with you on the "ad-free" spirit of Xnview!

The problem is they're serving a lot of images, and sometimes it's slow..

For your information, it is not needed to register to upload (as you noticed) but registering is free ...

Often happens when I click the +/- in the folder tree (and compession none), for example D:\my pictures\foo\bar\ is expanded and then I click on the - beside my pictures.
Could be some files it doesn't accept, or Win XP (SP2) only, or because my xnview (cache included) folder isn't on C: (D ...

Hmm not so simple... I increased thumbs size (120x90 instead of 90x69) and no crash (cache was more than 35 MB though)
I could be wrong again, but it looks like the crash only occurs when "compression: none" was chosen :?:
Can you reproduce or is it just me??

Yes, in fact I think there was 2 different things in my post:

First, you see it on the screenshot, caching via search did not really work, and it didn't do the expected "full caching" because when I open a subfolder it gets cached again.

Second, I'm not sure about this, but it seems that xnview ...

[RC5] Not caching as expected

Size is not a problem for me, speed is very important. So I decided to cache my pictures once and for all. I've got 2519 files and 56 folders in D:\My Pictures
The most convenient way I found was to search *.* in My Pctures (include subfolders) then click View.

That being done, I don't see any ...

forgot to login..
excuse me, i meant "back" and "forward"
and folders, not items!
let's assume you have 150 folders and subfolders, it may need heavy use of the tree's sliding bar (l'ascenseur ) to go to a folder then to an other then switch back to the first one (especially if you're using ...

[RC5] Tooltips missing

Something ultramegatrivial...
Favourites button doesn't have an associated tooltip. It's the only button in the UI which doesn't have one :)

PS. Not sure it deserved a topic, but in the sticky you said not to reply in that one so...

Bonsoir Pierre
I was just pointing out that the : between the field name and the value conflict with the : in the date. But it's a bit stupid because the easy workaround is to do a search&replace for ": " (note the space).
What would be interesting, perhaps, is a feature to export several pics' exif ...
