In my case, it seems to be MsMpEng.exe (part of the MS antimalware service) that is chewing up all the cpu.
Slow startup time is around 35 seconds :!:
At a guess, it might be related to the fact that my test install is not under "Program Files", so the scanner assumes less, or it might be some ...

Re: 0.84: UI panels % size not consistent
I use a layout with folder list on left, image file listing in the middle and categories list on the right. Both the folder and the categories list are each about 10% of full screen width.
As I narrow it, the folder and categories list panes stay the same number of pixels wide, while the file ...

Re: 0.84: Very slow startup on Win7 x64
This may or may not be related, but I have been noticing some very slow startup with 0.85b2.
I do not see any problem with v0.84, but v0.85b2 seem to take more like 20 seconds to fire up occasionally .
As far as I can tell, it happens the first time after I resume from hibernation, and sometimes ...

Works for me... - same specs as you.

Hmm, obviously depends on something else as well. :?
Not worth putting much effort into, as it's a simple enough step to make it display properly.
For one last test, try enabling all columns and retest.

Re: 0.84: Edit IPTC: "Don't Show this message..." doesn't w
For beta 3 the button naming should be changed as follows - both in "Change timestamp" and in "Edit IPTC/IIM" dialog:
[Apply] [Apply to all files] [Cancel]
But what does make 'Apply'? The label is not clear, the user don't know if the file is changed
With 'Save' or 'Write' we know that file is ...

Re: Exif timestamp, file date and catalog mismatch
I can no longer reproduce the bug. Changing the times seems reliable and it does not entail vast I/O processing.

Re: 0.84: Edit IPTC: "Don't Show this message..." doesn't w
I just tried again:
When editing IPTC/IIM data of one image file it's shown in the data pane but not in the IPTC/IIM dialog. I suspect that I'm using the IPTC/IIM dialog in a wrong way.
Here's a screen capture which shows my current problem. When reopening the IPTC/IIM dialog all the fields are ...

I can confirm that:
I can confirm that:
- the prompts are occurring at the correct time
- the remembered operation seems to work as expected.

Re: IPTC window: Wrong workflow with multi-selection
...But I think that I found the problem: What is "Always clear all fields" checkbox supposed to do? I noticed that it appears only on multi-selection.
If you open the IPTC dialog on multiple files to change only one field like caption, you need to clear the fields before, else you'll write all ...

Re: 0.84: IPTC window: Wrong workflow with multi-selection
In addition, I think "Apply to all files" works better to avoid the initial misconception that m.Th. had here: http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?p=137921#p137921
So, finally I learnt that what „Save All” means ...at least I hope! It means „Save current metadata to all files from selection ...

Re: 0.84: Edit IPTC: "Don't Show this message..." doesn't w
Again,Honestly, This "Save to all files" Is Double plural words together and not needed....
Save to files, is the correct way
I don't agree. "All" is more than just plural. "Save to all files" is clearer. (edit: and I agree with Helmut's point in the other thread that clarity is more important ...
