more investigation - alpha channel not working only in thumbnails. so we don't see complete image in browser as thumbnail if it has complete black alpha.
could it be corrected in next build?
Do you have rebuilt thumbnails?
Is it a big picture?

phoroshop and other viewers read file with no problems. this file was created in 3dsmax and resaved in photoshop cs5 - dont know where is problem lives
By disabling 'use alpha channel' you can view it correctly
there is one more issue with tif - this is empty image (all black) and alpha channel ...

Strange, if i don't use 'use transparency' it's ok. So perhaps the alpha channel is bad???

There is a problem on XnView if PDF XChange + shell extension is installed. Are you sure that shell extension of pdxchange is not installed?
