When starting from a file via TC into fullscreen view XnView crashes imediately on my Vista system. See also my other crash which might be cache related. I'm back to 1.954 now.

What a pity that this oldtimer didn't make it into 1.96. When will it be fixed?

Re: Keep it simple

xnview wrote:Please try XnView 1.96 beta
I did. Open pic from TC into browser mode, hit enter (preview mode with maximized window), then hit and hold picture down button - XnView rushes through 2 or 3 pictures and then crashes immediately with a BEX error (whatever that is). Vista 32.

Ok, I try to explain how it now behaves on my single display system (notebook). I hope it is reproducable!

- HQ Zoom is activated in Options (both ticked)

- State: browser. Press F11, selected pic is shown full screen. Press + button several times - works in real time, pixels are seen, so HQ is ...

Re: Don't open images maximised

Why not to use 'compare picture'?

Why does it always open a full screen window, even if I had changed the window size and closed it then?
You talk about the MDI child window, and not the main window, right?

I am talking about the 'Compare Picture' window - maybe that is an MDI window, don't ...

Very good! I have problems with HQ Zoom ever since but never was able to track down why it works sometimes then not. I always have XnView browser left monitor, F11 right monitor. Mostly the fullscreen pic on the right does not use HiQ Zoom.

I hope that your bug has the same root so I will get HQ ...

I just did some tests. I have lots of pics (12.000), 192x144 thumbnails, and my cache had been 800 MB. I changed from Lossless to Lossy (High Quality). There is no visible difference but the cache decreased to 200 MB.

Pierre, it would be nice to see the total number of cached files, not only cache ...

Re: Incorrect display of a png image

Please enable 'Use alpha channel'

I dare to say: there is no such option. All I find is the opposite, 'Ignore alpha channel'.
I dare to disagree: V iew » Use alpha channel (Ctrl+H) .

So with Pierre's totally clear hint I searched for half an hour in Options for this entry. After your note I ...
