Re: Displayed Image Quality
It's not a fair comparison when you have image in XnView scaled 99%, and in Picasa at 100%.

Re: Partial Transparence in GFL_COLORS and GFL_GREY
I thought you use libpng...
It's very simple to use [256][4] array for palette.
a) save PLTE into [col][0] and [col][1] and [col][2]
b) save tRNS into [col][3].

Re: Partial Transparence in GFL_COLORS and GFL_GREY
Fully agree with above posters. Core functionality should not be a low priority.
We all read stories how in the past Internet Explorer couldn't handle PNG files correctly.
Well, now we have IE8 that handles PNG better than XnView.
Isn't it sad?

Re: Firefox XnView Image Previewer Plugin
You don't want Firefox to crash on every second apng like XnView does.
Also Firefox handles PNG with transparencies better than XnView.

Re: Some animated GIF files are drawn incorrectly
Some animated GIFs are made in strange way, when not every frame is fully painted but contains only difference to previous frame or so as it looks like.
Yes, that's how GIF subframes are usually stored.
I'm not sure XnView should actually compose them into full frames or the current behavior is ...

Yeah, turns out libmng.dll was missing.
Sorry about that. Works fine now.

MNG support broke
Don't know exactly when it happened, but MNG files displayed perfectly fine in v1.95.3 (which is not too old),
but wouldn't work in current v1.96.2
Example: http://www.libpng.org/pub/mng/img_mng/pnglogo-grr-anim-lc.mng
I'd appreciate if others could confirm, or clarify at which versions it works ...

Image -> 32 bit
1. Open this image in XnView 1.96.2
2. It shows correctly.
3. Image -> 32 bit
4. Transparency is lost.

Re: 8 bit png with alpha (8 bits) mask
Yeah, I noticed that too (see example below), but full PNG support is obviously (and sadly) not a high priority for XnView.
I like XnView, so it's sad to see it lagging behind even Internet Exprorer, with regard to PNG transparencies.

Animated GIF + Filter = crash
1. Open any animated gif
2. Filter->Paint
3. Cancel
xnview crashes.
Doesn't matter what filter, or what AGIF (or APNG), it always crashes.
