Converting JPEG to .JEF

Could someone please help with information on converting a clip art image in JPEG or BMP to JEF for sewing.

What is JEF format?

At least for now, XnView doesn't support reading/writing of the Janome Embroidery File format.

If you Google embroidery software you will find various programs, some very bacic some much more sophisticated.

I'm not going to pretend these are the best programs out there, they aren't but if you try them you might see digitising images or lettering isnt just a case of converting a jpg for a machine.
