Is there a portable version of MP? So we can test it without installing?

Man, MP is portable, it comes in a zip file, it saves the conf files in User\Program data\XnViewMP, but there is an option to save it in the program folder
Tools > Settings > Integration > Save settings
XnViewMP v0.99.7 64bits / Win10. [last update: feb4, 2022]

It is already portable in that manner, yes, but it still currently saves the settings files elsewhere and not within the program's folder.

I have already started a topic for XnConvert for Pierre to make a Portable Apps folder arrangement, similar to an app from PortableApps.com after it's been installed:

I have to take issue with that - XnViewMP stores all the config files in the root dir of XnViewMP, if you use the settings like in this screenshot:

I can't find files of XnView outside the programs root dir.

Oh, please, no. I think PortableApps and it's folder arrangement sucks for XnViewMP, as it's native portable feature is much more dynamic and clear.
