App UI - menu structure - add new Settings menu

Post by user0 »

XnViewMP 1.5.3 64bit
Windows11 (22H2), display resolution 3840x2160, win scaling 150%

App UI - Viewer / Browser
- Settings is located in Tools that is not right
- Theme is available only in Browser mode that is not handy

Suggestion A
  • add new menu "Settings"
    - move there Settings
    - move there Theme
    - move there Language from Settings
  • also simplify Language items to:
    - Lang_name_in_English [space] Lang_name_in_national OR
    - Lang_name_in_national
    - remove flags and transltors (as they are already listed in About>Credits)

tbh, Im not a fan of Settings hidden somewhere in Edit (Adobe), in Options (IrfanView), in Tools (XnViewMP, ACDSee).
Its just more obvious to have app settings in separate menu, especially if there are a lot of unused screenspace.
