Please, would you make these ICONS for the lossless operations also available for the Viewer's toolbar:
Rotate clockwise - cmd_Irotate90
Rotate counter clockwise - cmd_Irotate270
Currently they are just available for the Browser's toolbar (while commands exists without icons for the viewer's toolbar).
Also, I like to ask for creation and including an icon for cmd_Icrop (the commands is available for the viewer's toolbar, but without icon).
Would be very nice, thank you in advance.

Re: Lossless Icons for the Viewer's toolbar
Since lossless operations work for JPEG format only, I doubt its good idea to add 2 specific buttons to the default toolbar.
It’s better to add 1 'menu' button (same as in Browser): JPEG lossless transformations [menu] - cmd_losslessM

Re: Lossless Icons for the Viewer's toolbar
Don't worry, the configurable toolbars would allow you to stay with the user interface as you are used to it, while others could benefit from improvements.
No no, this cumbersome "one more click"-workaround already exists. The improvement would be to have frequently used advanced features at your fingertips, or only one mouse click away.
In my tool bar I have been activating cmd_Irotate90, cmd_Irotate270 and cmd_Icrop since ever, but with blank buttons. 10 years ago I improvised my own button icons, but unfortunately it was not persistent against updates.
My suggestion to the highly respected author is to create and include the missing icons. This would unleash the power of these functions, that have been lying dormant in submenus.

Re: Lossless Icons for the Viewer's toolbar
Didn't bother to update to the current version or do a clean install?
icons have been available since at least version 1.5.5
I can advise you the same.
For others, it will be few more buttons they never use.
"JPEG lossless transformations [menu]" may be a compromise since UX will benefit from the same look of rotation/transformation buttons group in Browser and Viewer toolbars. It will also require to remove Undo/Redo buttons from the toolbar as there is absolutely no reason for them to be there.

Re: Lossless Icons for the Viewer's toolbar
This was good advise, thank you. I had to hide my XnViewMP roaming folder beforehand of the update installation, to get the new icons.
I do find these icons quite useful. The update history proves me right that it was a good idea to ask for them.
I don't get the clue from your recommendation not to use them and to remove the 'undo' button, possibly I am missing something. Since I don't have JPEGs solely but also PNGs and TIFFs. Rather I would extend the undo function also for lossless operations (making one backup for all, not for each Jpeg). Why are all these buttons so wrong to have? With UX I can't do anything. My platform is Windows.
The option 'Use lossless rotation (if possible)' is opaque to me, see my next post.
@xnview: Thank you for the icons for lossless rotation. How about a one level 'Undo' for lossless operations?

Re: Lossless Icons for the Viewer's toolbar
I followed your hint, good point, but I have two indications that the setting 'Use lossless rotation (if possible)' could be not working:
One is, the following warning message does not appear:
“JPEG lossless operation will modify original file(s), and may remove someunused pixels (width and height must be multiple of 8 pixels)! Do you want to continue?”
The other is, I tested with the test images from Karl's post, and the images are not getting cropped as expected:
viewtopic.php?p=126292#p126292
That's why I feel more save with the extra buttons.
My settings are: Tools → Settings… → Misc.
NO to "Change EXIF orientation ONLY (if possible)"
YES to "Use lossless rotation (if possible)"
Can anyone confirm the standard rotation button work lossless with this setting?
