Hello,

I get exactly the same issue on the latest version of Win10 Pro 64bits French version 1909 build 1863.752.

I have tried without success
- installing VC_redist.x64.exe
- sfc /scannow no problem detected

On [https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/win ... 58ca69c0a4] they also suggest to use
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

Nothing was found to repair in Win10

Hope this can help to detect the problem ???

For the moment I'll keep using XnViewMP 094.2 (portable)

Regards

How do you have installed this version?

Hello,
It's the portable version.
Comparing to the working version 0.94.2 I noticed that this version includes \plugins\platforms\qwindows.dll
so I created this folder in version 0.96 with a copy of qwindow.dll and it solved the problem.
Thanks your support.

I am also receiving this error, but only when trying to open XnView MP from another app. Example: DupeGuru, which has convenient shortcut to open files "in default app", but 100% leads to this error. (As of a few months ago, it worked fine.) Note: Opening app or photos normally works fine (double click file, etc).

I tried with my old normal install, and new portable install, with same results. Also: No problems with SFC or DISM. Yes qwindows.dll is present in plugins folder. Versions: XnView MP 0.96.2 x64. Windows 10 Pro 1909.
