Settings menu location in Windows and Mac OS
Hello all,
certainly it's quiet simple but I don't find it:
How can I change the language of an already installed XnViewMP?
I need the menus in English. But the installation is always German even if I choose "English" in the installation process.
Thx

Re: Change the language
Yes, it's easy: Tools > Settings > General -- General tab -- Language at the top.
Then restart XnView MP...
Then restart XnView MP...

Re: Change the language
I have been using XnView for over 12 months on my Macbook M2, so far in German.
After the update in December everything is in English, how do I set a different language?
Currently 1.6.4 with Macos Sonoma 14.2.1
Either I'm too stupid to find it in the settings or something else has changed that I can't figure out myself.
Can anyone help?

Re: Change the language
You don't have Tools > Settings... , it should be available in both the file browser and the editor/viewer, unless the interface has been changed which is unlikely?
Try the shortcut F12 ...

Re: Change the language
Correct, unfortunately not.
F12 does not help either.

Re: Change the language
Looks like a Mac interface issue unless the interface has indeed been changed, I only use Windows (when I have to...) and Linux, and I don't rush to install new releases...
Edit: I think this issue has arisen before fairly recently, a different location in Macs, but I haven't been able to find the relevant thread.

Re: Change the language
This is how I actually understood it, that XnView takes over the native language for Maxos.
This may be why there is no setting option.
I have just created a new user. Here, the language, color scheme, etc. are queried at the first "Start-Up" start.
German works here.
So I should know how to delete old settings. Uninstalling and reinstalling did not start the Startup Assistant.
Update:
I deleted all files that somehow contained "..xnview.:", so that the start-up configuration wizard started again. I then manually selected German, so that works for me. The "autodetect" function may have had a problem with the language.

Re: Change the language
In Windows and Linux, Tools > Settings... provides access to many settings (some users might think too many, but they have mostly been requested by other users... ), so I am sure that there is a way of accessing Settings on a Mac...

Re: Change the language
Could you please explain what is meant by "menu"? As I wrote before, I did not find the settings in any menu pulldown and only the first clean installation brought back the question and the language setting
