Thank you. I am not using windows so that is of no concern. Does this mean that I am doing things correctly but have to manually transfer images to the correct folder? Is there another option for getting images into the correct folder please?

as a workaround, you can change to the subfolder, and drag&drop your files

This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 0.98.0. Please check and confirm the bug fix here.
