Getting images to folders.
If you cannot drag and drop in MP what is the best way to get your images into a specific folder that has just been created?
Thank you

Re: Getting images to folders.
Thank you,
When I drag and drop from Desktop or finder the images are dropped to the bottom of the desktop not the indicated folder. I then have to move them into the folder with the move tool. Is this correct please? I thought they would go directly to the folder.
Many thanks

Re: Getting images to folders.
Hello again. I had trouble with the screenshot in that when I downsized it I could not drag and drop to this document. It simply went back to the desktop and I don't know what else to do.
I tried the process again today and obtained quite a different result. I created an new folder called New Folder1. I then clicked on four images on the desktop and dragged and dropped them onto New Folder1. Now all folders that were above the new folder - that is all folders titled from A to N are located in New Folder1 and I cannot revert them to the previous position. So sorry I cannot you with a screenshot
Kind regards,
Ken

With 0.96 on Catalina, i drag&drop some picture files on Desktop into thumbnail's view of XnView MP, and the files are copied... all is ok

Re: Getting images to folders.
I am using Catalina and version 10.15.4 I created a new folder with XnView called caravan interiors. With the browser open I highlighted four images on the desktop and dragged them onto the new folder in the browser and released the mouse. All the moved images now appear at the very bottom of all the browser folders. I now have to use edit/move to tool to get them in the correct folder. From what you say I think I am using the correct procedure but the images do not go into the designated folder
Thank you.
Thank you.

Re: Getting images to folders.
Although XnView is new to me I have been using computers for a long time and consider that I know what I am doing. However, I am getting very frustrated with what should be a very basic and essential procedure.I have spent hours working on the problem and getting nowhere. I repeated what I did yesterday to get you a screenshot but when I dragged images from the desktop to the new folder they simple jumped back to the desktop. I even tried one image at a time but it made no difference. Clearly there must be something different to what I did yesterday but I wrote down my procedure and followed it today.
Thank you

Re: Getting images to folders.
I tried once again following my last post and the images went in like they did yesterday, and I attach a screenshot. The images are the last three at the bottom of the folders. I have no idea what it going on.

Re: Getting images to folders.
ok, i understand now. I can reproduce. If you drag&drop an image file from your desktop on a subfolder in thumbnail view (Browser), the file is not copied in subfolder but in current folder. It the same for Windows version
