hi again,
Another fancy idea feature I've been thinking about lately, but was unsure about what some would think.
I like how WMP on Windows 7 darkens the background on the mini player while giving a prompt for user to choose the further media player actions. Take a look at these two pics of WMP on Windows 7 at end of playback:
----------------------------------
I think this look of the effect would look nice in XnView MP's slideshow when the slideshow ends or is stopped. Would look even nicer in fullscreen especially the white text glowing. Perhaps an option in future MP such as 'Display prompt screen at Slideshow end' - in where the screen would darken and display overlay white or light coloured text alongside familar icons. The choices could be these:
-Replay Slideshow
-Open Folder of Images
-Quit
... I could draw an MP mock-up later
..It's just an idea, any opinions?

Re: Slideshow prompt idea with effectual darkening
Ok, Im guessing this feature would require some OpenGL magic
For a future XnView MP we could have some 'Slideshow' settings in the 'Settings' - maybe:
to go in Settings>View>Slideshow (a 'slideshow' settings tab before the 'misc' tab)
Meaning the "quick slidehsow" group-box found in Settings>View>Misc could be moved there too.
'effectual darkening' = (a sort of) Vignetting
the settings could support a wide variety of options for configuring picture real-time slideshow effects, HD upscaling and all sorts. Especially topics like these to be considered in future for slideshow:
Subject: 'Ken Burns' Transition effect
Subject: Slide show - option to skip videos in .sld file
Subject: Features to add to Slideshow (Win/Lin)
