Rename like Windows Explorer

Post by Yasch »

Hello, i use xnView to archieve about 500 Photos, great tool for that! To do so I look at each Photo and describe it in the filename, e.g. NY_2010_Central Park.
The problem, if I rename a photo like I renamed another, maybye 50 pictures before, xnView ask me to "cancel" or to "override", so I'm looking forward to an option like Windows Explorer had (to add (+1) at the end of the filename). Is there an Option i missed or just not possible?

Do you use 'batch rename'?

mostly not, sometimes u can see: "well image 3, 5, 6, 7, 10 an 13 are from trip to xyz, so mark and rename them together", no problem, but mostly i must watch them seperatly (therefore it's important i can switch fast between fullscreen and "normal" mode) and rename them one by one. If I name a file like i named another before the "erorr/feature" occurs.
I looking forward to have an option like windows has it. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/26 ... e01ax.jpg/, an automatic addition of an number, if there is a file with the same name.

Oh ok, when you rename a file directly in the xnview explorer...
