VITec support

Post by alane »

I am trying to find a program that can convert all VITec image files to other formats. I am currently using Image Alchemy, which can convert VITecs from one of my sources, but not the other.

The files are coming from Socet Set by BAE systems. The files that Image Alchemy can convert come from Socet Set 4.2 on UNIX. The files that Image Alchemy cannot convert come from Socet Set 5.1/5.2 on Windows.

XnView lists VITec among its supported files, but cannot open files from either source (neither can nconvert). Both packages were tested on a 64 bit Windows 7 machine. Any thoughts as to why?

(Note: I am aware that xnview is free for non-commercial use only. If I can resolve this problem, I may start using it commercially, in which case I understand I am obligated to license it.)

EDIT:

Sorry, didn't flesh this out all the way.

I have turned on "display all image file types" and checked all types in the Options -> Read/Write section. I note that VITec is not listed there, but it is listed on the webpage.

Two files, one of each type, sent to email in profile. If this isn't the right way to get them to you, let me know.
