XnViewMP 0.48 32 Bit has the same problem as "normal" xnview.
See http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.p ... 766#p84766
Have a folder with about 10000+ pictures, in my case 1920x1200 BMP format (screenshots from one long game session, or whatever you have).
View: Thumbnails, quite large, width 370. to have about 3x3 on screen at once.
Task would normally be: Go through the pictures and delete the useless/bad screenshots.
But: XnView reads the thumbnails until the end and crashes. Happens at about 4000-5000 read thumbnails.
Aaand: The workaround is the same as for "normal" xnview, enable "largeadressaware" via binary hack. I did not test for the limit as in the thread mentioned above, but 9000 are not a problem any more.
XnView 0.39 64 Bit version can handle > 13000 (for obvious reasons) if you have the RAM. I never tested the limit of the x64 version though.
Suggestion: Do not try to have all thumbnails in Memory. Have them in junks of the size 256-pics in memory, and at max three of those junks. The one I am viewing, the one before, and the one after.
I wouldn't mind junks of 512 or 1024, but that might be a bit too much for a 32 Bit program? Maybe make it dependent on the amount of available RAM.
XnViewMP 0.48 x86: No 10000 pics per folder. Where is x64?
