1.98.8 View Fullscreen Show Information Text Settings

Post by jis »

Opacity for 0-254 doesn't work correctly, only for 255. Can anyone confirm this bug?
I use the latest XnView version in the Windows 8.1 Pro with Media Center.

What do you mean by doesn't work correctly? I can't confirm this bug, opacity works good here, tested in both fullscreen modes.

XnView 1.98.8, Windows Vista HP 32 bit, SP2, AERO enabled.

You are right. I just test the latest version of XnView on another PC and opacity works as ever. My home PC must have some problem probably with the latest NVIDIA driver (301.42-notebook-win7-winvista-32bit-international-whql.exe). I am very sorry for false alarm.

No problem.

Not a bug - moved to General Support.

I use at home for not so CPU hungry tasks my old good power efficient netbook Asus N10J (W7ESP1) which has GeForce 9300M GS Nvidia Graphics Card. I never noticed this problem before, which is strange, because I use XnView very often and I show EXIF Information in Fullscreen View with opacity 80 for better visibility yellow text on black background by default:

But anyway I solved it by downgrading Nvidia driver, I have the latest one 301.42. I downgraded to the previous version, it didn't help, so I repeat this to the previous previous version, it didn't help too... In short I must downgraded to the original manufactured version 176.23 from the year 2008. Above snapshot was snapped with this version, opacity is shown correctly again.
