The last version is built as universal (32/64bits), but the size of the package is bigger...

These few kbyte of additional hd-space don't take the cake...in the year 2012!
Maybe with people who still have CoreSolo/HD20GB machines with ISDN-speeds for downloads...
And why should there be a separate dl for users of Snow Leo or Lion anyway...
