0.51 Deletion terrible

As already reported with previous versions 0.39 and 0.48 deletions is terribly slow. Deleting a single file has taken 8 minutes (!!!). For 8 minutes the application did not respond to any input and the Windows hourglass was showing. This is not working good.

Thanks. It is around 300 MB.
Generally these kind of tasks should be done as background operation. There should be no need to rebuild the database or the view entirely only to remove an image fromt he explorer.
It should be removed from the view immediately and removed from the database as background task.

Also is there a way to mark files for deletion and deleted them later altogether?
