0.51: Does not start and crashes on OSX 10.5.8

last version i could get to run was v39. since then i just get a crash and system error
before i even get to the program. error just says the application quit unexpectedly
and do i want to ignore, report it to apple, or relaunch. relaunching just repeats the
same process.

Yes, currently 0.51 works only on >= 10.6

Same for me. It would have been good to know that before installing and overwriting the old version, which worked.
Is there any hope this will be fixed soon?
