I think that it's the time to change the forum system (too many spams, difficult to modify, not easy to have it on mobile device, ...).
vBulletin and Vanilla seems the best forum system. Do you have a feedback about these 2 systems?

Re: New forum
I've worked with vbulletin a number of times in the past. It's a good forum software to work with. I like it better than both phpBB and IPB It's biggest drawback is that it's expensive.
I've never heard of the vanilla one before.
Keep in mind though that migrating forums is always a royal pain. Even though there are scripts for importing the old forum databases, they rarely work properly. I don't know if you were planning to do a clean sweep & start fresh, but plan on being forced to do that, whether you actually wanted to or not. Make sure to make a backup copy of anything you want to keep, such as ongoing bug threads, the FAQ threads, etc.

Re: New forum
It should be noted that most of my experience with vbulletin was with v2.x. I am currently a moderator on a v3.8 one, but I haven't seen the admin panel on it, so I don't know how much it's changed. That forum has had a number of bugs, but it also has an SEO addon which interferes with a lot of stuff, so it's hard to know how much is vbulletin directly & how much is other stuff.
I have never encountered a v4 of vbulletin anywhere, though I have seen a lot of controversy about it.
All things considered: While vbulletin is(was) excellent software in the past, I really don't think I would go for it now, due to the pricing & the bug-ridden v4 stuff.

Re: New forum
I remember when it came out & the one forum I'm on was considering upgrading, there was a lot of fuss about v4 having an insane ammount of bugs, including a number of catastrophic ones. That was back in 2009, and as of this 2011 article ( http://imtips.co/no-vb4.html ), they apparently have still not addressed them. There are other articles from other people as well. It seems that everyone who has tried vb v4 hates it. According to some reports, even the parent company (internet brands) refuses to use it, much like the way microsoft refused to use vista on their company computers.

^At the time of this article, there were nearly 2,000 "critical" bugs in v4, and over 20 "showstopper" bugs.

Re: New forum
The thing which concerns me about XenForo is the lawsuit. These are serious allegations. If the court rules in favor of Internet Brands and XenoForo is forced to “cease operations”, we're screwed.
