Is it possible to convert RGB image files to PNG-greyscale? I need this to be able to open in UCSF Chimera for 3D analysis.
Thanks.

Re: Greyscale
Quite easy. Go to the folder with the pics in xnview's browser, select the images you want, then go tools->batch convert. Set the "directory" to wherever you want to save the new images (or you can check the "use original" box to put them in the same folder with the original pics). Under "format", set it to PNG, then click the "transformations" tab. Click convert->convert to greyscale->add.
You can play around with other settings & options if you want (but make sure to keep "delete original" UNchecked), then just click "go".
You can also do the whole thing from xnview's viewer mode, just go tools->batch processing, and then click either the "add" or "add folder" button to add the files you want. After that, proceed as outlined above.
