Need help. Running Win XP Pro.
XnView is stuck to an always on top action regardless of the options @ Interface/Windows/Always On Top.
I have uninstalled, cleaned the registry, deleted all files on hard drive, edited ini file.
And still no change when I reinstall. I must be missing something. Did not find anything searching forms.

Are you sure that you have edited the good .ini? Is it checked in option?

I have just now opened Xnview, checked the option "Always on Top". I then closed Xnview, I opened the xnview.ini file located in the ProgramFiles\Xnview folder. The value for AlwaysOnTop was 1. I re-opened Xnview to verify that the behaviour is for it to stay on top. It stays on top even though I click/select a window behind it. This behaviour is as expected.
Then, I un-checked the option "Always on Top", closed Xnview. I opened the xnview.ini file located in the ProgramFiles\Xnview folder. The value for AlwaysOnTop was 0. I re-opened Xnview to verify that the behaviour is for it to allow other windows to be on top (ie, in the foreground). It did not allow any window to be on top when I selected other windows.
Xnview did not do this upon first installation several months ago. Something seems to have changed it's behaviour. I have installed the latest version this week & that did not change anything.
All help is appreciated. Right now I know nothing else to look at.

I can't reproduce this problem... Could you try to rename the xnview.ini?

I renamed ini file, then opened Xnview. After going through couple of initial dialogues, it opened. I tried to get window behind Xnview to come to foreground. It would not. I checked "Always on Top" option & it was not checked. I verified new ini file had "AlwaysOnTop" = 0. I think there in something broken in Windows XP Pro.

ERUEKA! I found the problem. I have an AMD Radeon 6900 video card. An app called HydraVision gets installed with the drivers. It has a feature to control individual applications. For some reason, it was enabled. I do know how. I unchecked that option, and it fixed the problem. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME!!!!
