PDF documentation

Post by bobgoldstein »

I read in a forum post that there was a user document in PDF form. Where can I obtain it? I did the download, but all there was, was the app itself.

Are you looking for the documentation for XnViewMP or XnConvert, bobgoldstein?

I thought that only XnViewMP ran on a MAC, which is what I have. Where is it made clear what the difference is between XnConvert and XnViewMP?

And why is it not using the MAC OS Help? The program looks very very good to me, but the lack of documentation is a real obstacle to trying it out. But maybe I am mistaken and there is documentation!

I downloaded something called help-en.chm from the web site, but it didn't produce any change in the behavior of XnViewMP.

XnConvert is a slimmed down edition of XnViewMP. It comes with the batch processing features, but sans viewer/browser functionality.

Regarding documentation. In the old days we'd get a printed manual. And that was fine. As time went on we got in-program and disk-based help files, readme.txt and TXT/PDF/DOC/CHM files. This was also good. Perhaps even better than a printed book.

But now it seems some devs are going the online needs-an-internet-connection cloud-based documentation route. One which I completely dislike for a number of reasons.
On a clear disk you can seek forever.
