Microsoft reporting new version, with incorrect link
MP's been crashing on me a lot, unfortunately, and when I went into action center tonight I saw this:
Which links to perso.orange.fr/pierre.g/xnview/endownload.html, which links back to some search engine page. Obviously, not to a new version. I think someone might have hijacked your software's account with Microsoft in the name of ad revenue.

Re: Microsoft reporting new version, with incorrect link
Following Wanadoo's merger with Orange, users' homepages were redirected (from perso.wanadoo.fr to perso.orange.fr) and eventually purged (think GeoCities)foxyshadis wrote:I think someone might have hijacked your software's account with Microsoft in the name of ad revenue.

While the XnView Help Guide (courtesy of our pal Claude “Clo” Charries) is still up & running on pagesperso-orange.fr, Pierre's old site now defaults to a 404 search page on the Voila.fr portal (which is also part of France Télécom's Orange brand).

To be able to change the website URL, “independent software vendors” have to register with Windows Dev Center Hardware and Desktop Dashboard.

A newer version of Xnview is available for download that might solve this problem. Xnview recommends updating to the latest version of Xnview to take advantage of security and stability improvements.
