Cannot set file type asscociations

Hi!

Win 7 64bit, XnView 1.99.1

I am unable to set the file type associations from within XnView. Yes, I have googled and searched the forum and am aware of the "workaround" of running the application as administrator but it still doesn't work. Allthough the selected file types remain checked in the options, they are ignored by windows. I am even using windows with an administrator account anyway (funny that windows even offers me the option to "run as administrator"). Associating individual file types from within windows explorer with the "open with..." method works, however it would be tedious to do so with all desired file types. I don't even have an example file of all types I wish to associate.

So why does it not work from within XnView like it should?

Do you have downloaded the ZIP or setup package?
Do you have XnView in the Open With menu of windows explorer?
