Hidden Folders during Slideshow

I have 10 years of folders (one for each years) and then 12 "month" folders in each yearly folder. Each folder has a hidden subfolder where "originals" are kept of each photo that I have made changes to. Trouble is when I run a slideshow of the 10 parent folders (with all the monthly subfolders) it picks up all the hidden subfolders as well. This both creates duplicates in my slideshow and some that are not cropped or rotated properly. How can I avoid this without adding each folder manually to exclude the hidden folders?
