Tabs behaviour when opening many jpg's at once

Being in Explorer, selecting say 25 jpgs and hitting enter, I would imagine they would all show up in XnView with different tabs, in case of need 2 or 3 or more rows. I discovered that some 5 or 6 tabs are opened and each time may contain a few images or so.

Is this correct?
If so, can this be adjusted?
(like, as I said, all images having its own tab with multiple tab rows)
