Resizing .gif loses transparency when using contextual menu

Post by Patrice CHASSAING »

Hello,

I'm trying to resize some .gif but the transformation loses the transparency.

This happens when :
- I use XnView shorcuts in Windows(Vista) explorer
- I select "Convert ..."
- In the prompt, i choose GIF and Resize at 68x68%

it seems to be good when I use XnView GUI ...

THX.

PS: It's like that we can't add images in body :)

It's most likely that the other methods are using a resizing filter (lanczos, etc) while you're only using nearest neighbor within xnview itself. Any filter other than nearest neighbor actually redraws the image (to make it look smoother & nicer), but this destroys transparency.

On the processing dialog, go into "resize" then look at the "resample" dropdown and make sure it's set to nearest neighbor.
