0.51: Database Problem with tagged pictures

Post by orloff34 »

Hi Pierre,

just a third problem I encountered during the usage of xnview mp 0.51 which might be a general problem and not only a Ubuntu related one.

I tagged some photos. After tagging I moved these photos to different folder using xnview mp function (right click -> Move to ...). After moving the photos the tagging has been disappeared in the left upper corner of the thumbnail (checkbox is unmarked), but xnview still recognizes these photos as tagged in the categories view, Special Items / Tag selection. Also I have no chance to untag this photos that they disapear from the Special Items / Tag selection.
Problem with tagged pictures after moving to another folder.

Hi,

any news? Is there any work around or do I have to delete the database to reset all to solve my problem?

Best regards
Kind regards

If you restart XnView, you have always same files in the tag selection?

Hi Pierre,

xnview mp behaves normal for newly tagged pictures. I can check and uncheck them. Dependinding on the state of the checkbox they are in the tag selection or not.

But 6 pictures which are not tagged (the checkbox in the upper left corner is uncecked) always appear in the tag selection. These 6 pictures have been tagged and afterwards moved to a differnt folder. This is strange beacause they are unchecked and I have no chance to elimnate them from the tag selection. Even checking and unchecking the checkbox does not solve the problem. As well as restarting xnview mp.
Kind regards

yes it's strange that they are not tagged. Is it possible to have your .db?
Pierre.

Merci Vapavite,

I changed the suggested option from "never" to "on exit" and probleme was solved with the next start of xnview mp and db was "cleaned". The "untagged" images in special selection disappeared. The more I was not able to reproduce the problem again by moving a tagged image to another folder. No chance. Hopefully it never reoccurs.

Thank you for your assistance.
Kind regards

Hello, (translation : Google)

It is only a half-solution, alas :!:

The problem remains, however, because the files are no longer marked "apparently" because the ticking disappears when you move from one folder to another. This is what has caused your situation with a + move file option "deleted = Never!"

In addition, this poses a problem viewing files marked for further change or if a choice must be made in multiple folders!
solution:
- Or, keep the brand icon and checkmark "in all cases" as soon as one or more files are checked, taking into account this choice made in the "Brand" in the window Settings -> deleted "exit "or" never "!
- Or, have an additional option that would allow automatic ticking a list of files marked!
The Category tab allows you to view all the marked files (list) does not navigate between the tab and the Browser tab and then in the folder or folders to continue or change a choice!

To all, good luck and enjoy your holidays.
