Send e-mail from XnView

Post by knuti1960 »

Hello,

if I want to send a picture via e-mail, I do the following: Right-klick on the file, then an list with different commands occurs, I klick on "send per mail", then a window opens whre Ican fill in the mail-adress and text (it works also without doing something), then klick the "OK"-button: A warning from microsoft outlook appears, that says, an external programm tries to read files in outlook. I have the choice to submit this between 1 and 10 minutes. So I take 10 minutes.

I think, this is a very complicated process for sending a mail. Is ther anyone who can help me finding a better solution?

Best greatings

Seem to be a setting inside your Outlook or your Windows. I have no problems: after the Xnview the Outlook-Express dialogue opens within seconds, and I can send it.
(A workaround - better then waiting 10 min- could be the standard way: start outlook - create e-mail - attach file - ready.)

O.k., then I navigate to "my Pictures", open the wanted folder, but I see only filenames, for example "IMG_0184" ,I can´t see the photo. So, this no solution.

Where? In XnView or in Windows?

In both systems you can configure it
- to display "filename+extension" or
- to display thumbnails.

And from both systems you can drag and drop the files.

display thumbnails
That was it. Now I changed to this option and it works fine. And of course drag and drop would be possible also...

Thank you and best greatings !
