How to run XnView in debug mode ?

Post by converter »

Is it possible to run XnView MP in debug mode ? I've found an old thread where adding this feature was discussed:since I'm occasionally having some random crashes with XnView MP 0.51 on Ubuntu 10.04 64bit,and have no idea at all on what triggered the crash,I was thinking that some debugging info and a debug log could maybe help.
Generally speaking,I've often seen that - when reporting an issue- developers usually ask for a debug log and/or running a debug build of the program:since Linux also has a built-in debugger (gdb) maybe it could be used.
Version 0.51 MP (installed with the XnViewMP-linux-x64.deb package) is indeed a lot more stable and usable than 0.3.9 ,which was always crashing for me on this system, but these random crashes are still quite annoying:if I could contribute some useful info to fix this,I would happily do it.
