Batch rename by date - reset counter on day change

I would like to have the following feature when batch renaming by EXIF: please reset the counter on every new date eg.
instead of

2013-01-01 - 001
2013-01-01 - 002
2013-01-02 - 003
2013-01-02 - 004

I would like to have

2013-01-01 - 001
2013-01-01 - 002
2013-01-02 - 001
2013-01-02 - 002

For the UI this could be done by just a checkbox in the UI dialog. Any thoughts about that?
