Compare: Handling of identical files

Currently, when comparing two similar images you have no clear indication that the files are similar. Right, you can compare the CRC code, but I find this cumbersome. I'd asked for a clear indicator for identical images (assuming that the images are identical if the CRC is identical).

Perhaps a message box? Or a red/green symbol next to the CRC code?

I've been waiting for this enhancement and would love to see it in Tools » Compare... as well as the File already exists (overwrite) dialog.

• File compare for non-image files
• Search images in another set of images
• Usability: Compare with quick way to toggle images
• How to display 2 (or more) images in view mode?

Thanks for the congrats, XnTriq. I guess it's like mountain climbing: Just walk and all of a sudden you are on the top.

Your links (thanks!) clearly show that there's a need for this and that this could be applied at various places. Actually, I never understood why a user has decide to overwrite a file or not if the computer can easily find out whether the files are identical. :-/
